Camden County OPRA Directory

OPRA replaced the old Right to Know Law and took effect on July 7, 2002. Under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, OPRA expanded the public's right of access to government records and created an administrative appeals process for denied requests. Agencies must respond within seven business days under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5. Commercial requests get fourteen business days. Budgets, bills, vouchers, contracts, and salary data must be available immediately. If denied, file with the Government Records Council at 866-850-0511. Penalties under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-11 start at $1,000 and can reach $5,000.
